Join us for an intimate evening in The Vault, celebrating Kahiwi Wines, the Central Otago husband-and-wife duo Olivia Ross and Mike Wolfenden, two names to watch in New Zealand wine.
With Olivia’s time at Burn Cottage and Mike’s at Felton Road, the pair bring serious Central Otago pedigree to their own young label. Now, they’re pouring their 2022 Kahiwi wines alongside wines from the places that helped shape their careers, offering a rare opportunity to taste the connections between where they’ve come from and where they’re heading.
For the first time at Gilt, Olivia and Mike will showcase all four of their 2022 wines, including the two wines from their experimental Scordatura range, Tetra and Icosa. These are wines we think are well worth getting to know, an opportunity to discover a young producer with plenty of potential, before Kahiwi becomes a name you start seeing everywhere.
Settle in for a four-course dinner paired with Kahiwi wines and others, exploring the character of Central Otago and the thoughtful approach behind this exciting young winery.

Meet the wine makers
At the heart of Kahiwi Wines are Olivia Ross and Mike Wolfenden, a couple united by a deep passion for wine and a shared belief in doing things a little differently.
With a Master’s in Viticulture and Oenology, Olivia brings experience from wine regions around the world and a strong commitment to thoughtful, organic viticulture. Mike brings more than two decades of experience across wine sales, viticulture and production, with a particular focus on organic principles.
Together, they take a considered, curious approach to their vineyards and wines — working closely with the land, experimenting where it makes sense, and allowing the character of Central Otago to shine through.
Wines we’ll be showcasing
A selection of Kahiwi’s 2022 wines will be poured alongside a few special bottles connected to Olivia and Mike’s winemaking journeys. An opportunity to taste where they’ve come from, and where they’re heading.
